I will be staying off Via Capo D’Africa near the Colosseo in Rome. Does anyone know if there is a grocery store nearby. Also, do you have a recommendation for eateries with home style food in that area?

  1. just around the corner there is a very very good italian restourant like trattoria, very inexpensive.

is on the corner of via san giovanni in laterano and via dei normanni

    is very good!

    (i'm italian from rome)

  2. I stayed a block away from the Colosseum last month and there are plenty of little grocery stores all over the area. They're much much smaller than the grocery stores in the US, but you should be able to find what you need. I don't remember street names, but just walking around you'll run into them. Stock up on $1 bottled water if you don't want to spend $3-4 a bottle at the food stands!

  3. check it up at maps.yahoo.com type the address and you're on you way to shopping

also al35 ha there are a lot of grocery stores in Africa......duh

  4. no there are no grocery stores in africa, and if your not talking about africa well then im stupid, and why are you asking us? why dont you look it up.

  5. The B&B and the hotel in Via Capo d'Africa are very close to groceries, the metro, and a drug store if that's where you're staying. Angelino ai Foro Largo has good homemade pastas - the address is 40/43a Corrado Ricci. It's close to the Museo del Presepio past the colosseum from via Capo d'Africa. La Carbonara (214 Via Panisperna) is also very good - it's a little further but still easy walking distance. There are a number of restaurants in the neighborhood also - try Isodoro or Le Naumachie.
