Are there health and safety laws on footwear within a workplace such as a shop stockroom?

being more specific it is a retail stockroom. The shelves almost touch the celiling and are filled with clothes so often have to use big ladders. And we have to wear flip flops, doesn't sound right to me

  1. You'd have to check with your local OSHA office. It depends how dangerous the area is perceived to be.

    We work in heavy metal components, so we are required to wear steel toed shoes or boots. My son works in fast food, so he is required to wear non-skid soles.
