Are there legal issues involved with non-profit fundraiser?

Question

Can I just plan any type of fundraiser for any charity or needy family? Are there any legal forms or barriers I have to get through? or could I just do it and send my favorite charity/family/organization a check? Do these laws vary state to state?

Lots of questions...but I really hope someone knows.

Call your Secretary of State and ask them and call your State Tax office to ask all of these questions to get the right answer.

Call your local non profit organizations and see if they are having an event coming up that you can help raise money for.
