  2. All Libraries in Europe have internet access. sheesh.

  3. Internet access in Italian Public libraries is about 200. The basis for public library co-operation in the field of technology use is better than one might have expected.

Services resulting from regional and national co-operation have created 19 union catalogues and 207 catalogues of single libraries accessible by Internet. Many libraries have also a web site and give their users access to CD-ROM.

There are 22 libraries with homepages on the Web. The Associazione Italiana Biblioteche, the Biblioteche Italiana and the Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale also have Web sites.

Some 20 public libraries provide access to CD-ROM and the number is increasing.
