Are there lots of 'red-necks' in cincinnati?

I was just wondering so, because i was thinking of moving there, from this little town i live in. Just wondering, because im on the 'alternative' side.

Red-neck as in: closed/narrow minded people whom i will get many ignorant and annoying comments, such as "f*g, q***r"

There are closed/narrowminded people everywhere, especially when you are visibly on the "alternative side".  Ive traveled the world myself, and see it everywhere.

That being said, no, I dont think that Cincinnati has any more than anyplace else.  If you choose to live downtown close to UC or whatever, you probably will fit right in.  If you are out in the suburbs, you'll stand out a bit more, but it sounds like you might be the kind of guy that would stand out in any suburb in the world.  Even so, most people in Cincinnati are pretty friendly and accepting, and as long as you arent somehow negatively impacting them, they wont negatively impact you.  People around here generally dont go out of their way to cause trouble for others without direct provocation.

no not in cincy, you will find all types of people here!! KY now is more "redneck" type of people from what I gather. But you will love cincinnati!! good luck on the move!

  I am from northern Ohio and now travel full-time in an RV. I can tell you that there ignorant,closed minded everywhere. But not everybody is that way. I am now working at a campground on the Georgia/Alabama state line. I have traveled all over the US and people are about the same everywhere. Maybe San-Fran in California is the most excepting. But believe me,it all comes down to how you handle yourself.You can "flame" and draw attention,or just be a happy,good person. The people who are more apt to except you will judge you on what kind of person you are.If you are friendly,honest,happy and have a good heart,you will be excepted anywhere. The ones who don`t are the same ones ALL of us good people avoid.If you like and love your self,then others will also. Good luck and remember,there are good people all over.
