Are there lots of mosquitos in the Dominican Rebublic during December?

I am going to Porta Plata.

Most touristic resort has no problem with mosquitoes, however, if you plan on taking tours, I would suggest to take a mosquito repellent with you. It's best to be safe than sorry.

well once its not raining a lot, you won't get a bunch of them, but if its raining a lot yes you will get horsesquitos.

hi mosquito's are all over the country it really does not matter what time of year or day just be cautious and purchase a good repellent  i am from the dominican republic and like i said they are every where but the main thing for is attraction to your blood if they like your blood then they will bite if not you are safe but get bug spray anyway

there their no matter what but i went in jan once and it rain then dried up didn't have a problem with mosquitoes the only way i would worries about them if ur planning on getting really close to the Haiti Dominican rep. border. but i been there  2times  didn't get bit once and went once during the dry and wet times.

Rain will always bring mosquitos. Bring your spray just in case because in a tropical climate if the mosquitos don't get you the no-seems get you. I like the Carter mosquito wipes  you can buy in the sporting section of Target, Walmart etc. Anything with deet will keep those bad boys away.

Hi! If you go to tourist areas like Puerto Plata, Boca Chica no problems with mosquito's.

For Punta Cana I really don't know if there are any.

All those tourist areas are by the sea so less chance to have a lot of mosquito's.

I was in Dom Rep in Dec about 8 years ago, in La Romana which if I remember Plata is up north, while I was in the south.

but anyway..I dont remember any mosquitos at all
