  1. I guess I busted ALD's "rule" like a 100 times over because Africans actually should be kept in an overstock situation actually.  Such Anecdotal information again....sad.

Never heard of a "living stone" cichlid.  I've heard of Nimbochromis Livingstoni, which is an African Hap, related to Nimbochromis Venustus.  Could you provide the latin name please because I have no clue what  Living Stone cichlid is, let alone where it comes from.

The PH range can be anywhere from 7.8 to as high as 8.3 but what you really want to do is make sure you keep a high calcium hardness.  This will help keep the PH high but also benefit the fish even more.

  2. The best cichlid is an African Cichlid. they are strong and agressive and live long. One per tank please. They fight to the death. But they live for over 10 years! And they are as brilliant in mind as they are in color!

  3. are you referring to   Nimbochromis livingstonii?

there's only one type of  Nimbochromis livingstonii but there are other type of nimbochromis such as N.venustus and the other haplochromis species.  search under haplochromis to find the other related cichlids..another one of my favorites is the malawian eye-biter.
