Question:

Are there many fun onboard activities on a Royal Caribbean cruise?

I have cruised with Carnival before, and really enjoyed the onboard activites (even the silly ones like playing "Win, Lose, or Draw" and "The Amazing Race" where they paired us up on a scavenger hunt around the ship.)

I am considering a 8 day Royal Caribbean Alaskan cruise, and am wondering if there are fun things to do on days at sea. An Alaskan cruise would be too cold to lay by the pool. I need to do something other than waste money in the casino!

Thanks!

  1. Royal Caribbean ships have an indoor and an outdoor pool therefore you can have fun around the indoor pool and eat hot dogs and other treats most of the day.  There are lots of things to do on the ship, one game we enjoyed was the "Liars Club".  We went on the Alaskan Cruise and it was one of the best ones we went on.  Loved it!

  2. I have been on many cruises and about 7 or 8 RC ships.  Royal Caribbean cruise line ships have THE most and best on board activities of any cruise line.  Yes they have the games around the pool and the band playing, and the midnight party on the pool deck.  But the thing that sets Royal Caribbean apart is things to do otherwise like the rock climbing wall, the mini-golf course, the basketball court, the gym, the ice skating rink, the in-line skating rink and other such things, depending upon the ship.  One of the RC's ships that does the Alaska cruise, the Radiance of the Seas, also has pool tables.

I have done the Alaska cruise and its not too cold for the pool because the ships that go there have a solarium.  That's a covered pool and hot tub area that has a retractable glass roof so that the sunshine comes in and you can enjoy being in and around the pool and not feel the cold outside.  The ships also have their pool decks a deck below the top with glass doors and windows around so that the breeze of the moving ship is not directly on you.  Thus even if you do not sit in the solarium, you can sit around the pool in the sun, especially when the ship is in port.  In addition, the cruise season is mid-May through mid-September and the weather in Alaska (the air temperature) can be in the 70's during the day; its not freezing cold except when you are near the glaciers.

  3. My favorites are the newly wed game and the I want game. The I want game is where they ask for some silly stuff and you bring it to them. It is a riot. They asked for dentures on my last one and watching the older people spit out their dentures and people grabbing at them was hysterical. youll love it. i suggest going to all the shows too. Some may sound boring or nothing your interested in but they are great.

  4. I'm going on Royal Carribean tomarrow, and I'm so excited, because there is SOOOO much to do. On the cruise, theres so much. I heard it's the best cruise line.
