  1. Some of my ancestors are from St Helena, from both sides of my family.  They were Europeans who stopped at St Helena, spent some time there during the time that Napoleon was held.  They opened businesses, a hotel and a bank, married the locals and then they moved to South Africa.  Interesting question!  I plan on visiting St Helena sometime during this lifetime, for sure.
