  1. No, but you can create a "virtual" memory card designed specifically for PS2 and PS1 games if you're starting a new game. I believe you do this under the "game" setting ( picture of a controller)

If you wanna use your old PS2/PS1 memory card, you'll have to buy a memory adapter for the PS3

BTW CJG, thumbs up for you :D

  2. No. It does not have any memory card slots for PS2 or PS1 memory cards. If you are starting a new game on them, you can create internal memory cards. You can make them for PS2 and PS1. After you create them, assign them to a slot. Highlight the memory card, press Triangle and press Assign Slots.

If you want to bring over your old save data from PS2/PS1 memory cards, you have to buy the memory card adapter.

EDIT - Why did someone downrate me when I was right?

  3. No. I believe there are adapters you can use to transfer your data.

You can play PS1 and PS2 games on any PS3, except the 40GB I believe. I play PS2 games on my 20GB (old version) PS3.

If you don't have the adapter, you will have to start your PS1 and PS2 games from scratch.

The PS3 saves all your data on the hard drive on a "virtual" memory card so you don't need to buy memory cards if you don't have any.

  4. YOU COULD PLAY PS1 AND PS2 GAMES ONLY ON THE 80 GB PS3 AND THERE IS A MEMORY CARD SLOT CALLED ITERNAL MEMORY HOPE IF I HELPED.

  5. You can buy the memory card adapter, to transfer old saves to your PS3. Other than that, you just use the internal hard drive.
