Question:

Are there no fly zones that protect natural areas?

The other day my xc ski trip was ruined by nearly 2 dozen planes flying overhead in an hour. I live in rural Colorado and nowhere a major airport. These were simply commercial airliners crossing overhead.

The noise and eyesore were quite disturbing. Where can a person go these days to escape technology and be completely in nature? Are there any no fly zones for preservation purposes in the US?

  1. There aren't any no fly zones for preservation purposes.  Only for security purposes tight now.  What you are talking about is definitely a form of pollution to preserves as it ruins the wild setting that people are trying to preserve.

  2. I've been to many natural areas, and haven't encountered the problem you mention. If you go to another location, it should be fine. I'm not sure if airlines have dedicated travel routes, but if they do, you might've just been under one.
