  1. German Universities are excellent and have more or less the same Syllabus.

And of course do you have to learn German, how do you think you can follow the lectures.

  2. Actually no....because of some problems in recent times...from next semester they are having fees introduced...so do remember to check the college websites when you are applying...Best way to chk abt the colleges are

www.daad.org and indians-in-germnay...u will get all the information here...

    Best of luck........

  3. yes, now we have a tuition fee. but there are still some university that haven't give tuition fee. and the fee is very variant, west part is more expensive then east germany.

it depends on what kind of engineering, would you like to take...

    every city have their speciality.

exp. machine in duisburg, transportation in karlsruhe, architecture in weimar, etc

there are some program (international program) that use english. so you don't need to learn german to take the class. but your going to need german for your daily life. but you could learn it when you are in german..like me!!

  4. I had to hand them certificate from Goethe Institute that I speak German before I was accepted in the university, back then (1997) was still free, now you have to pay.

You can choose the books in the language of your preference but the professors are only teaching in German. There were also English speaking colleges but they were private and quite expensive.
