  1. I can understand wanting to know about Italy, but the way you word your question, I can't help but think that you are a bit prejudice against Italians.  I am a 2nd generation Italian American.  I do not in any way fit the idiotic stereotypes that are constantly placed on the people that are my nationality.  I'm really tired of hearing all the stupid remarks and comments that come from ignorant people.  What is your nationality?  If I'm totally wrong about you, I apologize.

  2. NO THATS MORE OR LESS ITALIAN AMERICAN CULTURE ALTHOUGH THERE IS STILL MAFIOSO IN SOUTHERN ITALY BUT ITS A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY AND ITALIANS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN ITALIAN AMERICANS THEY WORK HARD JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. THER ARE GOOD AND BAD EVERYWHERE. IM AN ITALIAN AMERICAN ITALIAN BY BLOOD AMERICAN BY BIRTH AND CHOICE. IF I WENT TO ITALY OUTSIDE THE TOURIST AREA I WOULD HAVE CONTACT MY FAMILY BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH IM 100% ITALIAN I WOULD BE ON THE MENU. MY FAMILY IS FROM NAPOLI AND SICILY . ANYWAY IF YOR GOING TO VISIT ENJOY IT

  3. Wow, what a broad question --- all I know about Italy!  You didn't even hit the highlights!  There are art treasures that defy understanding.  I could stand in the cupola with Michelangelo's David for hours, and picture the battle he had with Goliath.  The detail that was created in that marble is more beautiful than anything.  There are significant historic sites all over Italy.  Have you heard of Venice?  A city of water ways!  This is a stunning place, and who could not go to Italy and see all there is to see in Rome or Florence, or the Tower of Pisa.  Naples has a cameo factory where the people there have handed down the skills for many generations.  Learned by the youth, who then become the elders, and then the old men.  What a legacy!  The people are magnificently generous and friendly, and they are beautiful with warm spirits.

I could go on all day, and that is not something I think you really want me to do, however, there are so many things to enjoy that it will take you months to really enjoy it.

Who could forget the music that was created in Italy???  But the single most beautiful thing is the language.  The beauty of the language is untouchable.

Italy is one of the most memorable places you will ever see.  Take advantage of it!

  4. There are canals in Venice.  And lots of pigeons. /
