Question:

Are there other Earths out there with living societies?

I've always wondered that. I don't know why but I'm just sure that there are other Earths out there. But my question is, do you think those Earths have people like us? Do they have Yahoo Asnwers? Do they have Youtube? and all these other sites? Do they even have internet? What are their societies like, do they also have continents and different cultures? Or maybe they are back in time, not having invented such things as cars and such, or maybe other Earths are at the point where they just have Dinasours?

My imagination could be over the top, but what do you guys think about this? What are your thoughts on this?

  1. If space is, indeed, infinite, then there are not only worlds just like ours, there are an infinite number of them.  I've heard a saying that there are more planets in the universe than grains of sand on the earth.  To think that there is NOT intelligent life on some of them is arrogant.

  2. Certainly there is a great possibility that another Earth exists. However, of those psuedo Earths, the odds a re even smaller for life to even be created. And of those planets where life actually lives, an even smaller percentage of those planets have evolved life like the Earth does.

I personally think that we have not discovered another Earth with life because we do not have the technology possible to find it and also because we do not adequately fund the astronomers who search for pseudo-Earths.

  3. I htink there is... I htink theres something out there....its too crazy too think abotu often but we are not alone....

    read this article pretty interesting...

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25350155/?GT...

  4. No way....   We are the first ones in the all universe....that´s for sure...bye

  5. It's incredibly likely, yes.

  6. yes I think there is. definitely.

  7. A)  there probably are.

    B)  we'll probably never know for sure.

consider how unlikely it is that we're here.

    - we need to have a long lived start that produces considerable energy.

    - it requires that a stable planetary system develop.

    - it took 2-3 billion years, with many extinction events, to just get past the single cell stage.

    - it required that the earth store up energy for us to use to develop our technological society.

    - it required several more extinction events to make way for our relatively weak species to be able to dominate the species around it.  (note, one might consider an ice age an extinction event.  that always happens to some species.)

    - even if all works out, it would take the space shuttle 175,000 years to go from here to the closest star.

if you look at the state of the world, it's not at all certain that there will be a technological civilization 50 or 100 years from now.

while there is surely life in many places, intelligence is abnormal in the extreme, and technology is less likely.

    <<internet?>>  surely you jest.

<<or maybe other Earths are at the point where they just have Dinasours?>>  why do you assume that life somewhere else would be anything like life here?  i think it highly unlikely.

  8. i dont think there is

  9. Personally, I doubt it. But that's just me. But do you mean like, separate worlds like in a fantasy movie? Like in the Narnia movies or something? Or are you talking other planets and aliens and stuff?

  10. It's quite possible that other intelligent beings exist on other planets.  We can see billions of lightyears out with telescopes sent out into space and yet we have just barely scratched the surface.  Scientists have no clue how much farther out it goes.  Gazillions of lightyears and beyond.  Since one lightyear is 5,878,625,373,183.61 miles in distance, it's amazing that we've seen as far as we have.   Makes you wonder why they keep dwelling on life on Mars.  Forget Mars, keep travelling out!!

Even as a Christian, I believe it is possible that God created humans on other planets.  The bible isn't clear on it.  If God wanted more than one planet with humans on it, then He made it.  Who knows.  Something neat to think about.

I wonder too about inventions and such, but I wonder even more about the thing the people on Earth can never seem to get right... have they found a way to all get along to the point that no one has to leave in fear of war, drive by shootings, theft, gossip, etc. etc. etc.   That's what I want to know.

If you can get ahold of a copy of Louis Giglio's video called, "Indescribable,"  It will explain a lot of things about space exploration in a really neat way.

  11. Of course there are, there really does have to be. The universe is absolutely vast, its difficult to comprehend but given its size there are bound to be other life forms out there of varying intelligence and form.

Many people think you are 'crazy' believing in "aliens" but the crazy people are those naive enough to think we are the only ones in the whole universe. HOWEVER it's not likely that we have been visited by aliens and abductions are practically impossible.

The facts of the matter are the aliens wont even know we are here yet, we have only been sending out radio waves for 55 years or so and they travel at the speed of light, that means they have travelled 55lightyears, the nearest galaxy is MANY more lightyears than that away. So aliens exist, but they dont know tht we do and definitely havent visited us .

  12. I feel that there are definately other humans out there located on other planets like earth. This is why I feel this way:

Take a look at the Hubble Ultra Deep Field Image. This image has 10,000 galaxies in it. On the Hubble site it says that to capture the entire sky it would take 12.7 million images and almost 1 million years to do so. Astromoners are generally acknowledging that possibly one in seven stars could have and earth around them. Each of those 10,000 galaxies in the image could have a billion stars in them. So lets do the math. 10 thousand x 12.7 million x 1 billion / 7 = 18.1 sextillion possible earths in the known universe. There is no way that the human race is here by mere coincedence.

  13. yeah i think there has to be another earth-like planet because there are so many other galaxies and so many possibilites.

who knows what they look like or what their technology is like, hopefully we will be able to find out one day.

  14. yeah i mean there is an entire UNIVERSE out there - how could there possibly NOT be other palnets with living societies like ours? i mean think of the odds that there are not - oh wait - we cant - we dont even have any idea how many other galaxys, solar systems, or planets there are out there - and the universe is constantly expanding!

  15. i believe there is, we may never know but with infaninate space out there i think there must be

  16. Just this week NASA discovered two new planets in another galaxy that are very similar to Earth.. but larger. With this find, they also said that it shows that they will eventually discover a planet that is identical to Earth.. It is only logical to assume that life either exists, or can exist, on that planet.

  17. I think that there are millions of other Earths with oxygen like ours. Scientists say the are more than a trillion stars just in our solar system and I believe every hundreth star there is an Earth. And that's just in our solar system!

  18. my answer to that is no i really dont think there is

  19. For sure, I have no doubs of that, but they must be far far away from us, some of them could be even more advanced that us, some other may even their first stages....just like the Earth in the beginning.
