Are there precious metals in old telecommunications equipment?

I have tons and tons of older phones and ALL kinds of telecommunications equip. I am wondering if anyone knows more about the precious metals that were used in the connections and such. Or where would you start with who to ask to find out?

Search on recycling electronics.  There is a market for that stuff.

There is gold on the circuit pack edge connectors, jacks had a layer of golld on the contacts. There is always copper in the wires, lead solder, if it is old telco cables, the outside cables had a lead sheath - nice soft muzzleloaders dream kind of lead.
