  1. Yes yes yes, some lovely cards here:

  2. If you go into a hallmark store (not a regular store that sells cards) but a reall hallmark store they do have them. they have almost any card you can think of. you can also go to their websight and order them off line.

  3. Probably not, but there are other cards online- just do a search.

  4. Not Hallmark, but a couple of others do this that I found.  I personally just give a normal Father's Day card/gift to my first father, but it seems there are cards that are specifically for first parents.

And apparently Birthmom's Day is Sat, May 10th, 2008  according to Heartmark cards.  http://www.heartmarkdesigns.com/bmoms_da...

Birthmom's Day is a new one on me.  Ah, just like any other greeting card company.  Any new day to make a buck.

  5. I'm pretty crafty.  If you want, I'll make you one.  You tell me what you want it to say and look like, and I'll get it in the mail Monday (Sunday is my crafting day anyway).  Email me.  :-)

  6. Perhaps a thank you card might be appropriate?  When I adopted my son, I thanked his birth mother for giving me the best gift any women could ever give, a part of herself.  I thanked her for loving him enough to let him have the life she unfortunately wasn't able to give him.

I also wished her the best, and told her that I prayed for her to love him also, and to know that I loved her for this incredible beautiful child that we both love so much.  Each situation can be so different.  Many stores have a computer program where you can professionally print out a card with your own message in it.  Perhaps a scrapbook with picture duplicates of the child growing up might be more appropriate?  Show the child's little days, the first birthday cake, the halloween outfits, Christmas favorites, etc.  With this, even Hallmark would be proud!

  7. yes.  hallmark also likes to cash in on adoption.

  8. I do remember seeing (at our local Hallmark store) birthmother cards for Mothers Day but I don't remember seeing them for reunion.

However, when we were looking for adoption announcements, the site we used also had birth family cards.  I'll look to see if I can find the site and edit my answer if I find it.

ETA:  It seems that the site we used is no longer in service, I'm sorry.

  9. I don't think so, but maybe you should make one yourself...that way it'll say exactly what you want, and maybe you could include a poem or something...it'll mean more if it comes from your heart anyways...

  10. I've never seen any, but given the tripe that Hallmark usually puts in their cards, that's probably a good thing. Anyone who is reuniting would have to write or say those words him/herself. I can't claim to know what an adoptee or a first mother/father feels, so I wouldn't presume to write it in a card. Hopefully the writers at Hallmark feel the same way.
