I can't see how that could be. Hasn't most of the world been, well, discovered now?

  1. why not have a look around on google earth and see if you can discover one.

but seriously new ones are being made now and again by volcanic activity...

  2. it is un likely as we can see all of the earths surface from space so mothing will be un charted, but , if you are talking about on another planet then ...maybe!

  3. http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles...

this is about ITALY's undiscovered ISLANDs

u will get your answer there

  4. We can see all of the Earth from satellites so it's unlikely.

But there are more than likely undiscovered tribes of people living deep into rainforests and such, totally untouched by the 21st century.

  5. Maybe there are still some undiscovered islands... but only few..

  6. If we could answer with certainty, then they would be discovered.  It's true that changing water levels and seismic movement will cause exposure of some normally submerged, but it need not be by volcanic activity.  Slow plate movement is enough to do it.  But there won't be any surprises.  We have thoroughly mapped those areas of ocean floor shallow enough for this to happen.  And as others mentioned, islands formed by volcanic activity are well announced.

  7. Most sizeable islands are known thanks to satellite mapping, but that doesn't mean they are all settled.  Tales of getting stranded on uninhabited islands are still perfectly feasible.  Even if the location of an island is known, that doesn't mean that people routinely search it for survivors of plane crashes or shipwrecks.

And of course, new islands can always be formed by underwater volcanic activity.  Usually, the huge plume of smoke that accompanies a nascent volcanic island once it breaks the surface is a giveaway, but you could say that the new island hasn't been officially "discovered" yet.

    It's a big world.

I hope that helps.  Good luck!
