Are there rules about what foodstuffs you can take on a plane?

I'm off to Canada in a month, for a month, and was wondering if i'd be allowed to bring Marmite, Cadburys chocolate & Pop rocks on the plane? (a request from someone over in Canada)

Or will the Marmite be restricted (the 100ml or whatever you're allowed on board)

Wasn't sure if the liquid restrictions were just on hand luggage.

Also what about cosmetics?
