i'm frustrated coz my offer letter (for a postgrad degree) from UOW in OZ comes with the condition that i fulfill their English requirements...ergo that I study english there or take the IELTS. Maybe it's because I'm Filipino-Chinese and studied in the PHilippines...so the fact that all my studies were conducted in English doesn't count?? or perhaps it's coz i finished Uni 6 years ago..

i'm just frustrated since I've been speaking English all my life! I speak 4 languages but primarily use English in conversation. What's more is, I'm a published English writer!! I mostly write lifestyle articles but my command of the language is certainly good enough to live in Australia and study postgrad in English!

I'm stressing cos taking d IELTS means i've to wait at least a month to get d IELTS results and enroll in a uni AND THEN that's when i can file my application for student visa. Given that i'm applying for Spring 2008, it really concerns me cos they might not grant it in time :-(

  1. You can apply for your masters degree before you take the IELTS. If you get accepted they'll give you a condicional offer and then you have to show them your IELTS results before the start of your course. I very much doubt there will be universities that don't require IELTS for international students, especially for postgraduate studies. Good luck!
