  1. There are many Depot Ventes throughout France.

The Depot Vente sells second hand goods on commission from the owners. One of the largest (100+ in France) is Troc d'Ile.

There is also a huge selection of items at the various Emmaus charity establishments.

  2. Yes, but not as many as in the US. There are a few places in Paris where I sometimes go for nice second-hand clothes.

For clothes, these stores are called: "friperies".

There are also many markets where you can find good second-hand stuff.

  3. Some, but not that many... Generally you should be able to find them in the bigger cities, such as Paris, Lyon and Marseilles.

Other than that you have the markets...  I know that Paris and Lyon have a "Marché aux Puces" on sundays these are all second hand articles...

And the ordinary outside markets held on different days in each citys different arrondissements (neighbourhoods) have some stalls with clothes, mostly new, but some also second hand.
