  1. Mutations like six toes or hairlessness can be considered examples of evolution.

    edit:

When survival depended on unique abilities, a chance mutation might have proven an advantage. Nowadays... anyone with a credit card seems to be able to survive.

  2. This is a good question. Two items here. I always wondered why a human could have the appendix removed with no consequences. I found out that it's because we don't use it anymore. As a dormant organ, it becomes proned to infection. Mammals with a varied diet such as ourselves, bears, K-9s, etcetera, all have an appendix. It is used to help digest, hard to digest items. Items like nut shells, small bones, and pieces of hide. But since our food is mostly prepared, we no longer need the appendix.

Another evolution sign is our jaws are getting smaller - also a result of food preparation. Therefore, we have too many teeth for the space allowed. And this is why many of us need to have our wisdom teeth removed. If we don't, it gets too crowded in there and leads to problems.

  3. I think our brains are still evolving. If you consider the advantages intelligent people have over mentally challenged people you can see a strong driver for evolution.
