  1. A buddy of mine an avid waterskier used to live in Texas. He told me they always deep water started due to concerns about snakes.

I have seen pix of people with bite marks from musky but in all of my years I have only seen one or two of them. The last attack I heard of was a guy dangling his eensy-meensies over the gunwale of his boat. Our DNR eventually did let the guy keep the fish despite it being undersized.

In the end consult people familiar with the area you are water skiing about such hazards.

  2. I've been water skiing tons of times & have never had anything like that at all..  Good luck & have fun!

  3. the comotions of the boats and other people usually scare fish and snakes away.  i love riding jet skis and stuff like that and I've never ever encountered either while in the middle of the lake.

  4. if your not scared your a fool in some places you are on the food chain but that dont mean you have to go and destroy everything i swam with snakes and scary fish i dont know i guess eventually something could happen the one time i chased a school of barricuda and they disapeared faster than magic absolutely amaziing be carefull wear your life vest and ski when its calm and do some things to make you stronger youll git a chance hang arround with people who like the water and eventually it will happen

  5. Just don't fall!

If you are in a lake you'll be fine; the fish are mild and snakes stay toward the shore or on the bottom.

  6. NO! do not be worried! I have been wakeboarding for 10 years and i have never seen anything like that! I have seen a few fish but they are nice ones! they will not bite u!

  7. Yes - and don't forget alligators!

  8. Not really most is done on fresh water ,, so no sharks,, maybe some snakes,, yet not poisons,, also snakes & fish will be more scared of you ,,

  9. typicially there aren't many water animals near boats due to loud motors and moving water. But you are unable to ALWAYS avoid animals in there own habitat. doubtful they will harm you.

    happy skiing!

  10. watch out for brown trout

  11. I have encountered some ugly fish and seen others encounter snakes whils wake boarding and skiing.  I think the most importnat thing is to be prepared for it.  For example, if you come across a snake in the water you dont want to panic and fall off, its best to continue skiing or boarding and when your a little way away from it  - then you can panic and fall off. Youre going to sometimes feel slimmy stuff in the water - I mostly wakeboard in dams - best to keep moving around when you are waiting for the boat to come and get you and they probably wont come near you.  In the case of snakes though - keep your eye out and if you see one stay still - who cares about ugly fish when theres a snake.
