Scotland Yard probably want to believe he is still guilty they said they were 'dissapointed with the verdict.' However a thirteen hour dileberation process took place with clearly found that there is not enough evidence to prove Barry George of the crime. Many say he may be a fantasist and weird but not a calculating murder. His psychologist found that he find it difficult to organis himself or plan things. So I do not think he killed Jill Dando

The police think he is guilty, and he does look a bit of a nutter. But in order to have the great justice system we do, we need to accept he is innocent.

it does not matter what we think .. in eyes of law .. in reality he is a free man .. if he killed her .. that is waht he will have to live with .. .. it brings a diffrent question to mind .. does the punishment for a crime is in our hands .. does the system that we have is sufficient .. or not .. justice .. what is it .. what is it suppose to do ... i.e. Crime and Punishment .. very deep subject .. can't be answered with yes or no

There's bound to be...............anyone can hold an opinion but laws can only be upheld by the presumption of innocence and a fair trial in which all the proper evidence is presented.

Any other system would in all probability result in anarchy.

As some have already said the police do.

But i think this is more about face saving than true belief. Could you see the police admitting they framed the wrong man, it would leave them open to all sorts of law suits & criticism :)
