Are there special stems for triple clamp bike forks?

i am getting triple clamp forks for my downhill bike and i need to know if there are different stems for different triple clamps

  1. It depends on how old it is.  Most of them today use direct-mount stems where the stem bolts right on the upper crown.  Older ones had the usual configuration....some might still, I haven't been doing any looking at the long-leg forks lately.  Just check out what you're going to buy.   Also, if you go direct-mount, you'll need to get a stem that works with your fork bolt pattern, so pay attention to that part.
