Are there still a vast amount of street vendors in Rome?

I went there 3 years ago and that is where I found my best stuff....I haggled like crazy. However, I read somewhere that it isn't like that anymore.....is that true? I'm going back to Rome in July and was just wondering...so, thank you!

I was there a year and a half ago and there were definitely a lot.  We lived by the Vatican and they were out along the main road there (I forgot what it's called) until about 6 every night. There were others all over the city, too, but those are the ones we saw the most because they were right by our apartment.

Yes! There are lots of street vendors now.
