  1. I have never been to Nepal.but slavery is possible, bcoz there is a lot of poverty and the poor are exploited at many places.

  2. your question have both answer yes and no. yes in the meaning that there are still slave debts in Nepal. no in the sense that there is no any slave debts in constitution of Nepal. law of Nepal do not see slave debts as legal.

the society of Nepal is consist of mainly poor people. most of the people below the poverty line have less than dollar a day income. most of the time this money is not sufficient to live a normal life so they borrow money from the people who have money. they charge interest of around 10 to 18 percent.* and years after years the interest become double and triple and the total debts become very high than initial amount.

so to counter that debt people usually send their sons or daughter or even them-self to work on the money lenders house as domestic worker. sometimes they are treated well sometimes they are treated ill. but now a days the scenario is not so bad it used to be. people slowly know their rights and Maoist threaten any one who treated their domestic worker in wrong way.

hope one day man doesn't have to send their son and daughter to work on someone house just for the interest they need to pay.

  3. Do you mean bonded labour?

  4. Yes, in Nepal and outside too, among Nepalese. In Nepal, people who take debts from the rich are usually cheated and unable to repay. They and their entire families end up as slave or bonded labor. Some Nepalese travel abroad hoping to become rich, especially to  Arab nations. They get paid low and end up in slavery like conditions.
