Are there still places in Germany where people wear traditional clothing?

No, they don't!

Traditional clothing is as times worn by special events. If I should wear a traditional garment tomorrow I would be, as most people would, in a jam, not only do I not own such a garment, I don't have the slightest  idea how it would look.

But in Bavaria you can see, especially older men, wearing long Lederhosen in Winter.

Most is in Bavaria in little villages, where the farmer putting clothes on like that and going Sunday to church. Normally Germans has only fashion clothes on.

Full national dress on certain occasions only, as already mentioned i.e.'Octoberfest' in the south of Germany, Munich.

But other items are worn every day, like different hats.

You can easily recognize a man from the north by his headgear, 'Prince Heinrich' Muetze, or 'Elbsegler' in contrast to the already mentioned southern attire of the 'Tirolerhut' perfect with 'Gamsbart' (the beard of a chamois fitted to the hat).

The 'Dirndl' dress is worn for every day by some in the south of Germany, Bavaria, Black Forest. And for festive days and as evening gowns these dresses are of great beauty and to be bought at a matching price.

Another area where you would find, mostly elderly people, wearing 'Tracht' National dress is the Spreewald. The forest area around the river Spree, which is like Venice full of canals. No roads, just waterways, farms and other houses on islands, and there the ferrymen and women wear Tracht when they take tourists on trips. Such a trip can last eight hours without ever going the same way twice.

Not on an everday basis, no - but certainly for special occasions! There are traditional festivals (different ones in different regions) when people wear traditional clothing. In some regions it's a harvest festival, in other the May dance, in Bavaria there's obviously the Oktoberfest, but also a lot of smaller ones in little town and villages. In some families, people also still wear traditional clothes for weddings.

I come from Germany, so this question is easy for me.

Alot of people wear traditional clothes in Bavaria, the clothes worn by women are dirnl and for men trachten hosen.  Alot of people wear these clothing in Bavaria for the Octobers Fest which takes place in Munich. At the October Fest almost everyone wears traditional clothing. So, yes in some places which would be Bavaria people wear traditional clothing.

No way.

Though, if you go down to Bavaria, you will see people wearing these "costumes" on special celebrations ONLY.

They just don't walk around like that as their everyday clothing.

That we Germans run around in Lederhosen with a jug of beer ALL THE TIME is a false stereotype.

Beer, yes, we drink that stuff a lot, espcially in the south.

But the clothing?  No.
