Are there such a law?

Are there such a law where the boss must pay the co-workers directly? I started working for this company but I realized that the boss never pays until the co-workers ask. When i first joined, the boss told me that I would be paid on the 1, 16th. She never paid her co-workers until the co-workers ask so I had to ask after a week of waiting. I heard from co-workers that she had never paid out of her own motivation. If I ask for a paycheck, she gives me a her blank check. Co-workers have to write the check and get it signed by the boss which is really bad and stressful in a way. I started working here about two weeks ago but getting a paycheck in that sense is kind of not right. Is there a law that the boss must write the check and pay on time? not the co-workers asking all the time?

  1. yes.  the timing of your pay depends on  your state.  also, it is a federal crime for your employee NOT to pay you.  if you want to stay with the job, place an anonymous call with your area work commission.
