Question:

Are there suppose to be numbers imprinted on the lenses of my new glasses?

while looking at my new glasses while wearing my old glasses I saw numbers 200 inprinted on both of my lenses. what is that about? should I take them back and ask for new glasses? I never had a pair like that before. What would you guys do?

  1. If you have a progressive, this is one of the many laser etchings in the lense that help us to identify lenses that have no lines. The 200 most likely means that you have a +2.00 add in your reading part of your progressive. There are other etchings in the lense that you have not found yet! Yes, it is normal and nothing is wrong with them. Mine have it too. If you can see it when you are wearing them, you can tell your optician if it is bugging you and see what they think could be done. Most of the time it is not something you can see during use.
