  1. As elsewhere in Italy, take-away pizza is all over the place, but most of it is pretty miserable fare in Venice - you'd be better advised to sit down in a pizzeria or have a snack in a bar. The widest range of take-out pizza slices ( pizza al taglio ) and pies is offered by Cip Ciap , across the canal from the west side of Santa Maria Formosa, at Calle Mondo Nuovo 5799 (9am-9pm; closed Tues) - their spinach and ricotta pie is especially tasty and filling. Next best choice is the simple take-away place over on the other side of the Canal Grande at Calle della Madonetta 1463, a few metres north of Campo San Polo.

  2. There are takeaway pizza places all over Venice and most restaurants will do takeaway if asked. I thought the standard was generally excellent although it should be said I am by no stretch of the imagination a fussy eater. While you're looking for food, just fill up on ice cream which is almost always superb.

  3. i have been 2 Venice twice and never saw a take away.when i was at the bus station 2 return to lido DE jessalo there was a pizza take away there.in Venice i suppose they don`t want people 2 eat while walking along.

  4. Hang on - I reckon you may have missed the point here!"!! You are going to the birthplace of Italian cookery & you want to know how to get a takeway????? Get a life!! I suppose you go to Spain & complain you can`t get a KFC??
