Are there there more Chinese people alive today than any other race?

Of the 6.6 billion people alive today, China's population is 1.3 billion...

And since China does not include all the East Asian/Oriental/Mongoloid people on the earth, that would certainly give them a big "head start"...

Even though "Chinese" is not a Race, but rather an ethnicity...

Of course, they are 1/3 of the worlds population. Don't take the 1/3 as fact but as a ball park figure.

China has more people than any other COUNTRY... you know though china is actually a multi-cultural country and its only outside china that "chinese" has much meaning as a race. Within china people are more concerned whether your han chinese, shanghainese, mancuhurian etc etc etc.

Its also interesting that with China's one child policy population growth has slowed down. Statisticians expect India to become the most populous nation by 2050.
