you can buy them at any underground station ticket office, including the one at Heathrow

Yes, you can buy an off-peak (for travelling after 9.30am and anytime at weekends) 3 day travelcard Zones 1-6 for £20. Oyster pay as you go works out cheaper (£17.80 if you only travel through Zones 1-2 during that middle day where you don't have to go to or from Heathrow) but you'll have to queue at Heathrow tube station ticket office if you wanna return the card to get your £3 deposit back once you're done with it.
