  1. Currently there is no national passenger railroad system in Mexico.

KCS (Kansas City Southern)  has taken over the northern Mexican track rights and currently only runs freight on those lines.

There are regional rail systems around mexico.

I am including a railfan site that may help you with the regional lines:

  2. I hope not cause I live in Tennessee

  3. As far as the second part of your question your best bet would be to go into Arkansas and pick up the Texas Eagle  which would take you to the border town of Del Rio TX.  Here is Amtracks link

  4. There is no passenger train service in Mexico.  I live in Mexico.  There are excellent buses...very comfortable and reliable that can take you from the border to Mexico City.

  5. the Mexican nat'l passenger system was dismantled about a decade or so ago.

you could take a train to El Paso, and take a bus from there.

  6. none so far
