Are there transportation solutions on the horizon?

I could help with solutions when given the opportunity. dynamic routing within rural, suburban to urban areas is very much possible. I am wondering what is taking so long for corporation to step up to the plate?

There will be more solutions as we get more data about what is occurring on the transportation network.  Most of the network is dark – companies like Inrix are lighting up the roadways with probe data.  More and more navigation devices will be connected to the web, like the Dash Express, to generate probe data and enable better routing around wrecks and traffic.  We are making progress, but there is a long way to go especially to add public transportation information.  Check out what the UK has in Transport Direct for a vision of where the US needs to go.  I believe that it has taken so long because the US is a big country and gas has been cheap – we will see more investments in this area now.
