My daughter isn't quite two yet , but I'd like to get her in some type of learning program if possible ... I don't think that she is far behind her peers , but i'd like to give her a boost ... or any computer games , or movies , would be nice too , I'd just like her to learn from it , while having a little fun . Thank you

  1. Lots of love and attention and fun times with you are probably the best ways that you can help her intellectually and emotionally.

I think a trip to the zoo or the river or park would make more of an impact on a 2yo than any movies or computer game. Or even the shop, 'help Mommy find the bread'.

  2. lots of mommy attention and www.noggin.com is great     for mommy and me play time!!!

  3. there maybe some realignment of expectations what can a 2 year old should and could learn.

At 2, I also sent my son into a learning center, but my main purpose was to get him to learn the basics in socialization and how to relate with his fellow children/people. In the process, he also learned how to count, learned the alphabets, sing songs and recite poems. Most importantly, he became more confident but well behaved. He learned how to make new friends, share toys and how to behave in public. Of course he had lots of fun and always looked forward to go to school.

I sent him into one of those pre-schools ran by Montessori-trained teachers.

  4. She is a toddler not a mineature adult.  She isn't going to get any "smarter" than she is by you pushing education at her at this time.  In fact she will become bored and tired of having to be "learning" all of the time and when she gets into elementary school will get lazy.  Let her be the child she is...she will grow and develop at her own pace.  Allow her to use her imagination, it has been proven that the most intelligent adults were allowed to use their imaginations as children.  If you don't believe me try reading Randy Paush's "The Last Lecture" he was allowed to use his imagination and wound up as a Professor of Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, and Design at Carnegie Mellon University.  You might want to check out the link below.
