Ireland have 3 boxers in semi finals. They're all guaranteed bronze medals. But at the semi final stage there's 4 people left. How are they guaranteed the medals?

=[ I don't get it!

  1. each semi finalist gets a bronze medal

c'mon barnes, egan and sutherland- bring home the gold

  2. I guess if the best two fighters meet in the semis, before the finals, they still have a chance to be gold and silver.

  3. Yeah. Both semi final losers get a bronze. Weird isn't it?

  4. because one of them has to be third, !!! only one geta a medal but because theres three of em ireland are garanteed a bronze atleast

  5. Yes, if you get to the semi-final stage you are guaranteed at least bronze

  6. yes too your original question? there are two made one is for the medalist and the other is for a game called spot the ferret bowling comp where the boxer has too find his ferret in 2 days otherwise he will lose his medal i know its terrible idea but it does happen ooh!

  7. Yes. The two losing semi-finalists get a bronze medal. it's the same for all fighting events, Judo etc.. Fighting is potentially dangerous and the IOC and whoerver think it's pointless them fighting over a bronze.

  8. Yes, both the losing semifinalists will receive bronze medal. Glad that Ireland finally make it to the medals table. I see no reason why they shouldn't.
