Question:

Are there two different types of gall bladder attacks?

I'm 15 and I was told I have gall stones right at the beginning of my summer vacation. On september third I'm getting surgery for my gall bladder to be removed. =D

Okay, so tonight I just started having a bloated cramping feeling in my stomach. It makes it impossible to sleep! This was the kind of pain I first had that made me go to the ER. Normally, when I have gallbladder attacks, my chest gets really worked up and breathing is extremely hard. So, I was wondering if there are like two kinds of attacks? I've taken my vicodin and nausea medicine. So, I'm hoping this will go away soon. But more so, I was wondering if this was a type of pain I shouldn't ignore and go to the ER? Or just try to let it pass aka wait a while until I should freak out?

  1. I think I would just try to let it pass and take the pain meds for now.  The pain might just be different depending on where the gallstone is located at right now.  If you went to the ER now, they really couldn't do anything except run tests and probably tell you the same thing you already know about your gallbladder.  You'll still have it out in 2 days.  Good luck :-)

  2. your enzymes might be high when that happens you need to go to the e.r. they might do your surgery earlier due to that if you feel pain other than your gallbladder you should go to the er it could explode in your body.
