My family would like to go to the beach. I heard it is beautiful there, however we also would like some waves for surfing and such.

  1. Unless there's a hurricane in the vicinity, there will be no waves, or only very, very small ones. Clearwater is on the Gulf, and the Gulf is usually quite calm, unless, as mentioned above, there is storm activity in the area. Sorry.

  2. I'm going to mention that what you've heard is wrong. Clearwater is NOT a beautiful place by any means. And these other people are right, there are no waves.

Clearwater's clear water isn't so clear, the beaches aren't so nice, the people aren't so great, the city isn't so good either.

My advice: pick a better vacay spot.

    on the east coast.

  3. People who only know the Gulf of Mexico will tell you there are waves.  The waves there are less than a foot.  Unless there's a storm you won't be able to surf.  My advice would be one day during your trip drive across to the Atlantic and surf.
