I want a new hobby and I'm really interested in crafting leather products(i.e. purse, wallet, belt) but can not find information online. Does anyone have any advice to get me started?

  1. 'Bear's Trading Post' is a good place to start with. They offer a variety of free patterns and instructions, plus they're a good place to get supplies.

Tandy has also been around for a long time, and has free patterns and instructions as well as supplies.

These should get you started - good luck.

  2. GO TO...WWW.EHOW.COM

  3. Tandy Leather Factory has starter kits, Basic leather work books, craftaids, tools, finishes, how to sew, how to buckstitch, all the books, tools, supplies and information you need. Some of the local stores will also give classes on carving. Al Stohlman did some home video's. I do not know if they are still in production or not. I have seen them on Ebay from time to time. They also offer ready to make kits. Just tool and assemble.
