Are there wolf spiders in upstate New York?

I reached into my bathroom drawer to take out a hair clip and a HUGE...thing....kinda jumped out toward me. After freaking out and going back to take a look, I realized it was the most enormous spider I've ever seen outside of a cage -- let alone in my house. I looked up pictures and it does look like a wolf spider, but I thought those were only found more in the South/SW of the US. Help............I'm scared. :[ :[

ya i get those all the time! but of course i live in the SW and i doubt that it was a wolf spider but u might wanna do some research on it

Wolf spider is a generic term.  Wolf spiders are found on every continent (besides Antarctica).  They are harmless though.

They aree found throughout much of the Northeast

I've seen them in Masachusetts
