I served on the Kitty-hawk several years ago and I never saw any women pilots. I know they are in the Air Force but what about the Navy?

  1. Yes

  2. yes, they just cant go on Subs..thats about it.

  3. Point in case, I believe the PBS special "Carrier" (documentary about life aboard the USS Nimitz) had a female fighter pilot they talked about in one of the episodes.

  4. I believe there are, I would assume that some of them would fly helicopters in search and rescue too! Have a great day!

  5. Yes - watch the PBS special called carrier - they interview several female pilots.

  6. There sure are. I think that the Kitty Hawk has them too...I was in the ship now homeport in Japan. I was there around 2002...but I was on a different ship. My ship was home port Guam...

When I was in Japan the first time in 1994-96  the Indy was there and women were not on carriers back then. That was about the time congress changed the laws and started allowing women to do more jobs like fighter pilot. It just took the Navy a few years to catch up.
