  1. Ichiro might be the only lock on this list. Jim Thome is playing his way in certainly as he eclipsed 500 home runs and is adding to the list, so he should get in. Frank Thomas is in the same boat, as he has more than 500 home runs as well. Nomar was certainly on track and faded and the same can probably be said for Nomo. Sammy is also a toss up, with the corked bat and steroid speculation. Carlos Lee has away to go but is very talented and the next 5 years will tell the story for him. Schilling is great but doesnt even have as many wins as Mike Mussina so I don't know about him.

    Ichiro Thomas Thome-will get in

Schilling Sosa Lee- might get in

  2. Nomar Garciaparra - No.  Career started off like he was a HOF'er and  then he got derailed.  The rest of his career needs to be injury free and phenominal for him to be considered.

Jim Thome - Not a first ballot.  But maybe a later ballot (3 or 4).

    Frank Thomas - Probable

Sammy Sosa - Depends on what the voters believe about the 'roids.  HOF numbers though.

Carlos Lee - Too early to tell, but he is on a career trajectory to the HOF.

Ichiro - Give him a few more years of doing what he does and he should be a HOF'er.  Maybe not first ballot. (again maybe 3 or 4)

Nomo - Despite the No-No's...he's a No No for the HOF.

Curt Schilling - Again maybe not a first ballot, but perhaps a later ballot.

  5. Nomar Garciaparra: No, he spends most of the time DL. had a great career in Boston.

Jim Thome: Yes, has great power and has over 500 home runs,

Frank Thomas: Yes, great home run hitter, could have been better  if it weren't for injuries.

Sammy Sosa: Yes, he has over 600 home runs, but steroid speculation might ruin his chances

Carlos Lee: Too early to tell. If he keeps hitting the way he is right know, he is a HOF.

Ichiro: Yes, he has over 3000 hits in his career including his time in

Japan. Great base stealer as well.

Nomo: No, he was a pioneer for Japanese baseball players to play in the Major Leagues, but he didn't have that great of a career.

Curt Schilling: I will say yes. Had a great career and several outstanding post-season moments, including the "Bloody Sock" game in game 6 of the ALCS against the Yankees in 2004.

  6. Nope

    Maybe...doubt it though...

    Yep

Maybe...all sorts of speculation about him...

If he continues the career he's had, he's a definite possibility...

    Probably

    Not at all

Maybe...I think he should, but there is a big debate on that one...

  7. I think Frank Thomas and Jim Thome will be Hall of Famers. Carlos Lee will make it if he keeps at the pace he's on. The same goes for Ichiro Suzuki; he's been great.

As for Sosa, right now, there's too much controversey around his head to lock him into the hall of fame. There is still the possibility that he used HGH.

Curt Schilling will probably not be voted in on his first try, but I do believe that he'll get in someday. His postseason record is too good to be left out.

Nomo- No. He didn't play long enough.

Nomar was great at the start of his career, but the injuries have really killed his chances. He would be in if he'd stayed healthy.

  8. Nomar Garciaparra will not be a Hall of Famer, he was productive at the beginning of his career, and you could have made the argument if he had stayed an won two World Series rings, but I don't see anyway that he makes the Hall of Fame.

Jim Thome is intriguing because he easily has HOF numbers, but based on this era, I do not see it being realistic that he gets in because if you compare his numbers you would be looking at other players such as Fred McGriff, Rafael Palmeiro, Mark McGwire, Canseco, Carlos Delgado (in the end).  All have comparable numbers, and granted steroid speculation will keep many of them out I believe that Thome albeit deserving will not get in. Plus only a 5 time AS, 0 MVP's, 1 Silver Slugger?

Frank Thomas should be, arguably most dominant hitter in early 90s. He could be hurt by the fact that he was only a DH for much of his career.  I believe Edgar Martinez is just as deserving, but he may not get in because of his DH status. In addition, Thomas played in a long ball era, so 500 HRs doesn't quite mean the same thing.  I believe he is a YES though.

Sammy Sosa, not going to happen. I don't wanna go into detail, but based on the speculation, in addition to the corking incident, there is no way.

Carlos Lee, even if he puts up great numbers for his career, he would not have distinguished himself enough to be a HOFer.

Ichiro, I believe definitely should be a HOFer, I believe he should be looked at for his sample size, such as say Sandy Koufax was, and when looking at that Ichiro is the most prolific hitter since well ever.

    Nomo, um...NO

Curt Schilling...if he had been better at the beginning of his career there would be no discussion, but I don't think his numbers are good enough to be a HOFer.  3000 K's doesn't mean as much versus his other stats and the fact that he won't be remembered as a Great Pitcher. Incredible in the post season, but otherwise he doesn't have the same name value as say Randy Johnson, Greg Maddux, even John Smoltz.  There are many other pitchers not in the Hall with much better stats than Schilling.

  9. Nomar Garciaparra- if he keeps his stats up

Jim Thome- mave because of 500hr

Frank Thomas- mabe because of 500 hr

Sammy Sosa- if he didnt do roids he would have

    Carlos Lee- no

Ichiro- if he keeps his stats up

    Nomo- who

Curt Schilling- mabe but not 1st ballet

  10. Nomar- No way

Thome- Has a chance if he keeps with what he is doing right now.

    Thomas- YES!

Sosa- I dont think he should ever sense the cork bat incident.

Lee- Still has years to come and anything can happen

Ichiro- If he has over 180 hits a season Yes he will probably reach 3000.

Nomo- Excellent pitcher for the Sox... maybe

    Schill- YES! No question.

  11. Nomar Garciaparra= Borderline

    Jim Thome= Yes

    Frank Thomas=Yes

    Sammy Sosa= Yes

Carlos Lee= Too soon to say

    Ichiro= Yes

    Nomo=No

    Curt Schilling?=Yes.

  12. Garciaparra.  If he can stay healthy long enough, he's a certainty.

Thome.  Over 500 homers without steroids.  Yep

Frank Thomas.  Most dominant hitter in early 90's.  Yes.

Sosa.  Did he do steroids?  If so, no, if not, yes.

Carlos Lee.  Too soon to tell.

    Ichiro.  I think he's a sure thing.

Nomo.  Outstanding pitcher for a few years is not enough.

Schilling. At least a 50/50 chance for him in my opinion.

  13. Nomar Garciaparra - no

Jim Thome - I think so

    Frank Thomas  - yes

Sammy Sosa - hard to tell.  Numbers definitely deserve it.  I think he gets in but it may take quite a while.

Carlos Lee - little too early to tell but right now I don't think of him as a HOFer.

Ichiro - I think he gets in based on his American and Japanese numbers.

    Nomo - no

Curt Schilling? - Pretty good career and excellent post season career.  Definitely on the bubble.  I'd put him in the same category as Jack Morris.  I think his out spokeness may hurt him though.

  14. No,

    Yes,

    Yes,

    Maybe,

    Yes,

    Yes,

    No,

    No.

  15. Nomar- No, he was good in Boston and looked like he could be a HOF caliber type of player but not now.

Jim Thome- Totally, he has like what 530 homers and 1500 RBI those are HOF numbers.

Thomas- Yea, he was never accused of cheating with anything so I think he does deserve the HOF

Sosa- Number 6 all time in HR. I've said enough

Carlos Lee- Not yet, No matter how much I hate this guy I dont think that he is a HOFer yet. But maybe soon.

    Ichiro- He can be

    Nomo- F' No

Schilling- I would say yes. He won 2 WS rings and was MVP of the 2001 WS.

  16. Interesting group, so let's break this down piece by piece, shall we?

Nomar was outstanding during his tenure as the Red Sox shortstop, but after that he has played about as many games as he has missed games because of various stints on the DL.  At his current pace, Nomar would not have a chance.

Thome is tricky, but I think he will get in...eventually.  He has power (523 HR) but only a .280 career batting average.  A few more years of production could help his cause.

Frank Thomas is easily a Hall of Famer.  The Big Hurt put up crazy numbers his first ten years in the league with the White Sox.  First ballot.

Sammy Sosa will never get in as long as McGwire and Bonds never get in.  These three were the poster-boys of the Steroids Era and voters take that into account.

Carlos Lee is still young, at a mere 32, but even on his current pace, he will not reach the Hall of Fame.  El Caballo has good power and a good batting average, but that's the problem, just good.  Overall good player but will not be remembered 20 years from now.

Ichiro is a lock at his current pace.  His ridiculous batting average may put him at 3,000 hits faster than anyone in history.

If you mean Hideo Nomo, then he has no shot.  With a career ERA over 4.20 and only about 110 wins, he needs a miricle to get to Cooperstown.

Schilling in my mind is a sure Hall of Famer.  He has won three World Series, is one of the most impressive post-season pitchers of all time, won over 200 games, has over 3,000 K's, and has an ERA under 3.50.

  17. If they didn't play another game in their career:

    Nomar Garciaparra - No

    Jim Thome - Yes

    Frank Thomas - Yes

    Sammy Sosa - Yes

    Carlos Lee - No

Ichiro - No (doesn't have 10 years of MLB experience)

    Nomo - No!

Curt Schilling - Close.  I'll say he's going in.

  18. I would say only Frank Thomas is a HOFer from your list...the other guys are very good but not at that level for me...Sosa would be but steroids keep him out...
