I'm 23 weeks pregnant with a very active boy! he moves, pokes and kicks continuously all day and even has woken me up at night. At my 20week scan he was very low head in my pelvis and i had to go back so they could fin the scan off as they couldn't get the head measurements as he was so low, they didn't seem to concerned about this though..

this week ive woken up with baby turning and pushing out really hard on my lower cervix leaving me in lots of pain and feeling like all my muscles are pulled the next day, on thursday night he was moving and next think i knew i was in major pain above my right hip on my side, he was pressing on my nerve and it killed!

Ive also woken up early with my tummy and lower pelvis above my hips going really hard and tight and then this spreads around my back and up my back, my tummy/uterus goes really hard and feels like really bad period cramping and the same for my lower back, this has ended up with me having some back ache afterwards and aching around my hips and lower pelvis. this last for about 10mins then it subsides, and sometimes happens an hour later again.

is this braxton hicks as ive heard there not meant to hurt or is it baby wriggling round so much hes stretching my muscles/tendons/nerves.?

Id love to hear from you if youve had anything similar or are a midwife and know what it could possible be.

thanks

  1. the best thing you can do with concerns is go and see a doctor as everyones pregnancies are different experiences for everyone take care

  2. ha find a question i was going to ask guess other people answred it. im 21 weeks pregnant and i had braxton hick last night for 30-1min long.people say its fine

    congrats

  3. i was having some of the same problems around week 24, im 36 weeks right now, but my doctor was not too worried.  A few times i was admitted to the hospital and the nurses said that i was having lots of contractions, but they were nothing to worry about.  It may just be pains you will have to deal with like i did, but if you think its a serious problem call your doctor.  I can feel my BH contractions so you may be feeling them along with other pains.

  4. Definitely sounds like BH and also border lined labor pains.  I'd keep an eye on that.

BH at that stage shouldn't be hurting like that.  Sorry to concern you.  I receieved those pains when I was on the delivery table. (subtle labor pains of course. They increased after the doctor broke my water.)  If it gets any worse.  I'd contact your doctor immediately.
