Question:

Are these good bridesmaids' gifts?

I have four girls in my wedding party, my maid of honor and three bridesmaids. My FH and I are paying for most of the wedding ourselves and have a modest budget ($12,000 including honeymoon). I want to give my girls nice gifts without breaking the bank. I bought them each a silver bracelet and plan to pay for their makeup on the big day (I don't care how they wear their hair or jewelry as they are all unique individuals and I want their personalities to stand out). Does that sound like enough? The bracelets were on sale for $10 each (retail value $40) and the makeup is $55 each. What do you think?

  1. i think the makeup is a good one. the bracelet will be worn once or twice and stassed ina jewelry box until they need the room for newer jewelry. :-/ its a normal BM gift.

  2. I'm assuming they are to wear the silver bracelets at your wedding? And the makeup is for your wedding.... While it's nice to pay for those things that they would have otherwise been expected to pay for themselves, you should get them something that doesn't involve your wedding. That would be a true gift.

It doesn't have to be expensive. Lotions (But not to wear at the wedding!), candles... Just something that doesn't have anything to do with being in your wedding. *That's* a true gift.

  3. I think it's perfect.  It's not how much you spend on them, it's the thought in showing them you're grateful for what they have done for you.  Congrats on your upcoming marriage and good luck!

  4. Yes I think that is perfect. A good amount.
