Are these good running times at the track? (for a very fit soccer player)

i ran 2.5 miles to the track..stretched... fast 4 laps (5.50) ..fast 3 laps (untimed)... fast 2 laps (2.49)...fast lap (1.15)

  1. Seems fine.  You did a ladder workout basically.

    Good times for a soccer player, you could probably switch to XC and step right onto the JV team or maybe varsity if the team is weak.  But more importantly, seems like you have more than enough endurance for your season.

    I wouldn't do back to back track workouts, if that is what you mean by "first day of the week".  You should do a recovery run the next day (something like 30 to 45 minutes easy running).

  2. yeah those're pretty good times if you're not a track runner. good job with the mile time.

  3. good.   im in cross country (newbie) it take me an hour to do 12 miles. but thats allllooonnnggg way. and i mite get lost. its good for u though. 2 miles.

  4. It depends on your age.

    Those are not good track times, but might be good for a soccer player.
