  1. The GCSE's are not the thing that determine your entry to University, However, they are important nevertheless. The grades you have obtained are very good ( well done). This will enable you to get into a good college/sixth form and hopefully will help you get into a medical course at university. Ideally, you will need quite high A levels, B's at least.

  2. If they're what you need to do Biology and Chemistry at A-Level (I think they ar), then you're doing fine.

Most unis don't look at GCSEs- they want AAB or ABB at A-Level including two science subjects (preferably Chem).

  3. Hi there....this question is a bit complicated because every university has different specifications. GCSEs are becoming ever more important in entry for medicine, there are some universities that really use GCSEs as one of the most impotant factors for giving out interviews. For example Birmingham university want minimum 6 A*s and if you don't then you don't really have a hope of getting an interview. Cardiff for example take your top 9 GCSE grades but these have to include maths, the sciences, and English language...an A* is 3 points, an A 2 points and a B 1 point. They add up this to give a total out of 27...they then combine with another point scale which includes non-academic acheivements and then take the top 30% who get given an interview.

Obviously I don't know every university's specification but I can tell you that most will want at least a B or above in English  language so you should think about re-sitting that if you really want to do medicine.

My advice is to look on the UCAS website (http://www.ucas.ac.uk) and look at every unviersity's specification......or phone them up, that would be better because it's not always clear on the UCAS website

Anyway good luck, I hope I've helped you somewhat.
