Question:

Are these makeups worth it?

I have been thinking about trying these makeups, but I was wondering what you thought of them. The following brands are inexpensive but I wanted to know if I will just end up throwing them away: N.Y.C Makeup, E.L.F., Cover Girl from the dollar store, and Love My Face from Bari. Have you ever used these products, and if so, are they any good? By good I mean do they stay on a while? Do they end up looking obvious and trashy? Are they better than more expensive makeup? I would really like to know if you could help me! I want to know your experiences with these brand names, details are appreciated! Also, I would like to talk about the foundation, pressed powder, and concealer of these products mostly!

  1. I love N.Y.C. make-up. Their lipsticks, lip-gloss, eyeliners, nail polish and blush are awesome though stay away from their eye-shadows... they can get on the cheap side.

CoverGirl is the best, though avoid getting any from the Dollar Store since the Dollar Store doesn't carry ANY good make-up. Anything else by CoverGirl (they eyeshadows and lipglosses are my favorite) are awesome.

I've never tried E.L.F., but I heard that it was good. I never heard of Love My Face, though.

I also love Presige, Rimmel and Wet 'n Wild make-up. Anything by them is great! Since they are so cheap I collect a ton of them.

Don't be afraid to experienment with make-up, though. If you stick to low prices and colors that look good on you, then I don't think you'll have much trouble. Anything from Target is great, and the popular brands from Wal-Mart are good too.

  2. Neutrogena seems the best for you try:

    SkinClearing Concealer (for blemishes)

3 in 1 Concealer for eye (undereye circles)

    Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Compact

    hope i hlpd :]

  3. oi, course not, inexpensive brands can work just as well as expensive brands, before i even could offord mac i lived off n.y.c and e.l.f..........

e.l.f has awesome concelor, and N.Y.C makes great eyeshadows, bright..........

it kinda just depends how you apply it, if you've got the skills, you can work with 1 doller make up ;-)

  4. NYC is pretty good :)

its one of the cheaper brands that look just as good as any other brands :)

I recommend Maybelline.. they have the best mascaras at a cheap price! Especially Great Lash... I'm pretty sure it's less than $5!

    Hope that helped! :)

  5. These brands are a little more expensive than those, but they're really good and still cheap

    Collection 2000

    Barry M

    Sleek

    2True

They're a tiny bit more expensive, but imo, better

  6. MAC

They are pretty expensive, but honestly. It is a good investment. Spending 14 bucks on a good, long lasting eyeliner is a cheap deal, and it last long.

  7. NYC is actually really good, keep it

covergirl is alright, but it kind of made me break out

(i dont think cg is worth it)

ELF was alright, dont throw it out

all of these products stay on for a good amount of time

i reapply about every 3 or 4 hours

they dont trashy, unless you make it look trashy. dont apply a lot

more expensive makeup i love is

    MAC

urban decay <--its amazing, and totally worth it!

    bare minerals

    lancome

i dont recommend sephora products, they kind of suck

and inexpensive brands that are good would be

    maybelline

    revlon

    ALMAY<--really good

  8. I've never liked a love my face product, so avoid them and when buying makeup at the dollar store, just buy eyeshadows and lip stuff since I think foundation and concealer should be younger and most dollar store stuff is old.

NYC is awesome and cheap. I've never hated one of their products, the nail enamel, brow powder, and lip sticks are what I usually buy from them. I like ELF well enough, don't buy their mineral makeup or their foundation, cakey, doesn't last long, very limited color selection. They have these adorable lip tins you should try. Their customizable eyeshadow pallette is great too.  Cover Girl has a lot of great products. Remember to avoid discolored or separated products from any store because its a symptom that the makeup has gone badd. Pay a little more at the drugstore, or maybe check ouy Big Lots, I've had pretty good luck from them.

    Other brands to try?

Milani is, like NYC, a great brand with lots of good products. I love their mineral makeup, but the color selection is bad, so its only really good if you can get a close enough match. Their lip stuff and eye stuff and blush and bronzer is good too.

Rimmel lipgloss and sticks is awesome, as is some of their foundations.

Can't beat Wet n Wild now a days. I remember when they were c**p, but while its prices have gone up, so has the quality. I don't like any of their concealers or foundations, but all the other products are good.

Jane is improving as well. Love their new gel eye liner and their foundations aren't total c**p. Their lip and bronzer is good. I tried the minerals and it oxidized and I ended up with orange face, but it was good until then.  Just start experimenting with cheap stuff and you will find the products that work for you.
