  1. First off, the blue damsel is going to become VERY bad tempered as it matures and may try to kill the clownfish and yellow goby. I would look into something a little less aggressive. The clownfish and yellow goby should be fine together. A good sub for the blue damsel would be a firefish. With saltwater you should plan on an inch of fish (full grown) per four gallons of water. That means you would need at least a 35 gal system (if not bigger) for these three fish.

Starfish are a bad choice for beginners. The detritus feeders need a reef setup or they will starve to death in a few weeks (sometimes they do anyway) or the carnivorous ones will kill whatever they can catch. One good species I could recommend are serpent stars. They stay on the bottom of the tank and eat whatever organic matter they can find. They are great for keeping the sand clean. They need a place to hide and only come out at night though.

  2. Chocloate chips are better, they eat corals tho, so do not get one if you have orals.

  3. If you're a beginner, I don't really think it's a good idea to get saltwater fish. When I started, I got some tetras and platys - the tetras are very cool to look at, especially if you have a flourescent lightbulb in your aquarium. Then, when you have more experience, you can try some saltwater fish. Good luck!
