Are these nickels worth anything?

Question

one shows the obverse on both sides one side says 1979 "D" and the other says 1986 "D".

And i have a nickel that is a series 1940.

The two headed and dated nickel is a novelty item and has no collector value. They are used in coin tricks. There is no way it could have been made at the Denver mint or any other U.S. mint. The term series when it come to numismatics is used for paper currency not coins. The date on paper money is not the date printed but the date authorized or when a signature was changed that is why the term series is used. The 1940 nickel is quite common even though it is 68 years old. It is a start for a Jefferson nickel collection. The Jefferson nickel is a coin that a whole set can almost be put together from change. With luck you can find them all from 1938-2008.
