In trying to answer & reading questions & answers

my blood pressure was becoming extremely high each morning.

I could not deal with some of the trash being said.

I have had to back away for health sake.

But I am in no way gone.

This is a presidency worth dying for. I have 5 grown married children & 5 patriotic flag waving grandchildren.

I'm 78 & not giving up completely.~~~~

What say you ?

  1. oh ur 78 so u probably one of the few ppl tht sees mccain as young betty my grandmas younger than him SERIOUSLY!!!

  2. I simply do not let these things get to me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I know that I will not change anyone's beliefs and they will not change mine. If it upsets you don't read them. You are right this election is not worth having a stroke over. My best to you.

    Obama 08!

  3. It does not bother me, I avoid this like an illness if I can. Maybe I said something a while back, don't remember now. .Some people like to argue, don't let it get you down, rise above it.   Poppy

  4. No, my blood pressure is fine !  This is all a storm in a tea cup !  Some people are Staunch Republicans, others Faithful Democrats . . .Me, I vote for the best man whom I feel is best for the job, no matter what party he belongs to . . . Someone will win and someone will loose and God help us we get back on our feet and out of the mess we are in.. . we are all proud Americans ! !

  5. Just wait until it gets closer to the election time and things get more heated. The sad thing is that so many people have absolutely no idea of what they are talking about and have got wrong facts and dont do any research. These same idiots have the same right to vote as others who take the time to be really informed. If that thought doesnt get your blood boiling nothing will.

  6. They never affect me at all since I never visit that category.

  7. I quit reading them.  Even if someone has something interesting to say, they have to try and sway you to their side, in some fashion.

  8. My blood pressure has gone down considerably each day as we move closer to the end of the the current administration and the beginning of a new era.  God Bless America and the democratic process.

  9. I can't read anything that causes my blood pressure to raise, cause I just had a pacemaker put in.  As for any political question I avoid them if I can.  I usually don't tell how I'm voting, but I know it won't be for the young guy who they say has been in the Senate for only 173 days!!

  10. I don't take things serious enough to effect my health.

  11. No.  For sure this is an important election.  I choose not to state my politics one way or the other in this forum.  I'm kind of amused by some of the comments and questions I'm seeing.  On the one hand, some talk about Obama as if he's either the Second-coming of the Lord Jesus Christ or all four of the horsemen of the Apocolypse. On the other hand there are some very funny Palin questions from a user that has me blocked.  They seem very anti-SP, but I know that the asker is a big Palin fan, so there must be more to them.  I also noticed that one of the very politically outspoken members isn't even a registered voter.

When I take all of this into account, I don't really find anything worth raising my blood pressure.  It's just talk.

  12. No, I'm taking my political BP medicaion.

  13. Believe me.  Y/A q and a are not worth getting steamed up about.  I have to remind myself of this once in a while also.  It's just a bunch of folks expressing their opinions, most of the time sincerely, but sometimes with the idea of getting people's dander up. Just realize that with the small number of members in this forum, none of them will have any influence in the long run, no matter which side they take or what they say.

  14. When I go to the politics section, it does. Seems like threats of violence, all kinds of innuendo, rumor and little or no facts are the norm.

Sad part is, it is coming into the senior section fairly regular now as though there isn't a big spot for it elsewhere. Can we leave the high blood pressure in the Politics section?

  15. You go girl!

  16. Hello, Steady on young lady let Obama be the one that dies with embarrassment when he loses.

  17. Calm down sweet lady. We have no control, other than ignoring the things that we don't want to read,or hear. I can't say that I enjoy the bashing of the candidates either. But when the election is all said and done, the bashing of someone will continue.

Your family and friends need you!

We will always fight for the issues we believe in. We must be alive to accomplish our mission.

  18. I feel the same way!  There is so much wrong information out there being taken as truth like Gospel!  It has become blatantly obvious that very few people read up on what is actually true instead of taking others' word for it.

  19. Never give up I say, NEVER! You have to consider the source, Jill, if you catch my drift, and with that being said, my blood pressure has truly been excellent lately!  ;)

    McCain/Palin supporter ;)

  20. There are a lot of good people on Answers, and a lot of losers, so just consider the source when you're reading their opinions.  There are much better things than being on Answers that you could do with your time, so if it gets to you, maybe you want to find something more productive to do.

    GO OBAMA!

  21. Well, I remember 50 or so years ago in a class about how the constitution was hammered out, it was brought out that certain among the founding fathers argued that the common man was incapable of self government. At the time I bristled at this notion that seemed to me to be simply classist and elitist. But, alas, over the decades what I have observed was that they at least had a point. The things you mentioned here only tend to underscore this concept. I tremble for our future. Sad as it may be that is the answer.

  22. Nope! Nothing online has any bearing on me.

  23. Well, uh, no, they are not raising my blood pressure. Chill out grandma.

  24. Yes.  I will be glad when the Election is over.  I try to avoid many comments, seems in Family there is enough with so many of us and on different sides.

We cannot give up.  Have to have Faith and be Strong!  One will win.  and it will be someones choice!

    Flag ~ Faith ~ Family

  25. Yes, it does a little. I will be glad when the election is over because regardless on who becomes President, we have to except it no matter what and things will start calming down. And the media is part of the problem.

  26. I'd much rather see a woman with 5 children & a solid sense or her self-worth become the VP alongside McCain.  American needs to start rebuilding something & I think Palin is just what we need to get back to the basics of living large again & having no guilty feelings over doing so!

We need role models & experience.  We need to see a functioning family with a supportive man that is involved as caregiver in a traditionally female role!  We need to see a woman who is still happy having children & working a high power job!

KUDOS to the Republican Party for stepping up to the plate INSTEAD of side-stepping the issues!

I support McCain/Palin...I just wish I had registered to vote.  All I can do is keep my fingers crossed.  The alternatives don't give me that "happy feeling" within my soul!

  27. No because I pass them on by.

  28. I'm with you and I couldn't say it better than Me-She.

    DeeJay.

  29. Nope, I'm not reading it - I've already made up my mind. So have you, so quit subjecting yourself to it.

    God Bless the U.S.A
